On this day last year, millions of us Harry Potter fans were reading the most anticipated book of them all: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And, many of us wondered what would be the end...not just of the books, but the fandom.
So where has the past year gone by? We still argue about it, still discuss many things ranging from Rolf Scamander to Severus Snape, from The Grey Lady to The Veil. Many loose ends are still not tied, and we as fans still love to savour the books for any teensy hint. The fandom is still alive.
We still have three movies to look forward to, the Harry Potter theme park, and if Jo so decides, the much-anticipated encyclopedia.
The Harry Potter books are timeless, and even after fifty years, there are millions of Lord Of The Rings fans, so why shouldn't the same be true for us Harry Potter fans too?
Many of us are fans of LotR, the Inheritence Cycle, the Twilight series, the Chronicles of Narnia - but Harry Potter remains in our hearts and will live through with us forever.

Also, finally, thanks to BlogHogwarts we know that the official teaser trailer for Half-Blood Prince will be released on August 1, 2008 in front of The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor.

That makes it a two week long wait, but it's all right, atleast we're done with so many rumors now!

Thanks to Renata from the website O Mundo Harry Potter for letting us know that they are now reporting they've exclusively got word from IMAX Corporation itself. They said:

"There will be a SHORT, 15 second trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince prior to The Dark Knight."

So, there will be a teaser in the 3D exihibitions of The Dark Knight at IMAX. It seems, though, it will not come to normal exihibitions.

Remember though, this is not confirmed by WB.

EDIT: Even by my own record, I know I'm changing layouts a bit too much this July. But, well, what do you guys think now about this one?

Back in April, we posted about HP Alliance asking everyone and especially us Potter fans to sign a petition to stop the Darfur Genocide. I take great pride in reporting today that atlast, they've achieved success. Nick Donovan, the Head of Campaigns, Policy, and Research at the UK-based Aegis Trust said:

You all at the HP Alliance made it possible to send almost 10,000 emails to the UN Security Council, asking for the Council to speak out and put pressure on Khartoum to hand the men over. Without your imaginative campaigns over 3/4 of these emails would never have been sent. The end result is the first ever UNSC presidential statement condemning lack of action and demanding an end to impunity. Our actions helped, the pressure generated by other NGOs helped - and the grassroots emails sent by you all really made the difference - showing that it wasn't just NGOs and members of the elite who care about Darfur - but people from all walks of life disgusted at impunity for mass murder and eager to see action.

While this may not result in immediate action, this one little step shows that we, thousands of Harry Potter fans, can make a difference. Remember what the Sorting Hat tried to say: United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

Movie Magic: And in the Order of the Phoenix, a character like Umbridge brought with herself so much... pink.
Jany: The colour of her costumes was predetermined by the book: pink, pinker, pinkest. Everytime we see her, she is in a different shade of pink. As she gains power, the colour gets stronger and more atrocious until she winds up in the deepest shade of cerise. Also, in that film working with Evanna Lynch [Luna Lovegood] was very interesting. She was very specific about certain details. I made earring for her that were red radishes, and she insisted that they had to be orange. That's how well she knew the character. We wanted to make sure that Luna's costume reflected a girl with very individual tastes and her own special interests, but not so completely different that she would not fit in with others.
